Ronaldinho and Kobe are probably the two most exciting players in their respective sports of the past decade, amazing fans with incredible displays of their athletic prowess and agility. Both have won awards, championships and earned ridiculous amounts of money. Both are known and adored around the world, although the majority of Americans probably still don’t know who Ronaldinho is. Americans seem to believe that American football is the most popular sport in the world. But in reality, the sport that we call soccer but that is known as football outside of the US, is really the world’s most popular sport. Americans may know about the magic that Kobe Bryant creates on the court, but until we discover the magic of Ronaldinho, we will continue to be ignorant about a phenomenon that the rest of the world already knows. Ronaldinho e Kobe são provavelmente os dois jogadores mais excitantes nos seus esportes respectivos da década passada, ao espantar fãs com exibições de sua incrível atlética proeza e agilidade. Ambos têm ganharam prêmios, ganhou campeonatos e muito, muito dinheiro. Os dos são conhecidos e adorado em todo o mundo, apesar do fato que a maioria dos americanos provavelmente ainda não sabe quem é Ronaldinho. Os americanos parecem estar convencidos de que o futebol americano é o esporte mais popular do mundo.     Sad that “soccer” has strong participation among young people in suburban areas, but as they get older they lose interest. If given the opportunity, the game could catch on in urban areas like basketball, where cost and space have hurt participation in baseball and American football. Unfortunately I think community outreach for real football is severely lacking.
